When was the Umbrella invented?

Approximately 4000 years ago the umbrella was invented. For protecting from rain the umbrella was first waterproofed by the Chinese. In 1830, the 1st umbrella shop known as “James Smith and Sons” was opened at 53 New Oxford Street, London in England. The steel ribbed umbrella was designed in 1852 by Samuel Fox.
