Elisha Gray in the year 1876 invented the first electric synthesizer. The first programmable synthesizer called as RCA Mark 2 Sound Synthesizer was developed in 1958 by the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center.

In the year 1964, the first modern synthesizer that was commercially available was introduced by Robert Moog.

Synthesizers are the instruments of electronic that can produce a variety of sounds by either imitating other instruments or generating new timbers.
