In the year 1839, vulcanized rubber was invented by an American Charles Goodyear and on 15th June 1844 he received a patent. Vulcanization is a chemical process that is performed to strengthen the rubber. Variety of products such as shoe soles, hoses, hockey pucks and tires are prepared by it.
