In the early 1940s, naval engineer, Richard James invented the Slinky toys. It was demonstrated in November 1945 at Gimbels department store in Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. Slinky or Lazy Spring is a toy which consists of helical spring that can be stretched and bounced up and down.
