When was the Rocket invented?

Between the ninth and thirteenth centuries in China the first rocket was invented. Robert Goddard of the U.S also known as the Father of modern rocketry built the first successful fueled rocket and it was patented in 1914. On 16th March 1926 it was first launched in Auburn, Massachusetts. On 3rd October 1942 the first German V2 rocket reached space. Werner Von Braun created the rocket during World War 2 to deliver bombs. Soyuz was the first rocket to carry a human into space which carried the Vostok 1 spacecraft and Yuri Gagarin the astronaut.
