The hydraulics engineer, Ferdinand Chauvier of South Africa in the year 1951 invented the first manually operated swimming pool vacuum cleaner. In the year 1974, Chauvier created the first automatic pool vacuum named Kreepy Krauly. Pool vacuums automatically clean the pool by removing debris and dirt from the walls and floors of swimming pool.
