When was Cheerios invented?

In the year 1941, Lester Borchardt who was an employee of General Mill, Minnesota invented Cheerios. Its original name was CheeryOats and in 1945 its name was changed to cheerios. It was the first ready to eat oat breakfast cereal that was eaten without cooking.
