When was Breathalyzer invented?

The breathalyzer or breathalyser was the first practical instrument invented by Professor Robert F. Borkenstein of Indiana University in the year 1954. The level of alcohol in the person’s blood is measured by this instrument by taking the sample of the breath of a person.
