In the year 1964, the mathematicians John George Kemeny and Tom Kurtzas at Dartmouth College designed BASIC programmable language. It denotes Beginner’s All Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code and was designed for undergraduates as a tool of teaching. Bill Gates and Allen developed the BASIC for the personal computer of Altair which was released by the MITS in the year 1975.
